Since summer is right around the corner, it's time to increase server popularity for the next couple of months, and with that altogether increase forum activity and population. So, here's what we could do: A slight change to the forum I suggest we stop using the orthodox idea of having the news/home mid section and replace it with the gametracker server logos. I believe that having the sniper only server being ontop would be useful towards increasing popularity. If it's too much of a change, a new news article ought to be made with the top 3 most popular MK servers and, respectively, their gametracker banners. Drop requirements to enter As we're currently low on members/admins/participants, I figure that being picky right now is extremely limiting our scope of operation. We're going to have to accept a few broken eggs to make our omelet big again. Once we reach satisfactory levels of activity and participations we can begin dropping members/admins. Let's be serious. Cod4 isn't what it used to be. There is still going to be a decent amount of players though, and thus we need admins. I've already stated that there's no point in having great admins anymore, we might as well settle for decent ones nowadays. Just give people a trial run, watch over them, and if they're not shit, we'll keep them. To me, MK is no longer a Cod4 clan, but a private community of like-minded individuals. I believe that almost no new members will be able to join this private community, but they most certainly can join the clan aspect of it. I don't see the point in requiring membership to be an admin neither. We don't need new people in the clan, we just need people to admin our servers, so here's what I propose: * Change entry requirements. Basically, you don't need to be a member to be an admin, you don't need to write an application as if it were for a professional job, we don't give a shit about previous experience unless it's THG, then we'd have to look into it, everyone gets a trial run and those who are what I will now refer to as "certified admins[1]" will watch over them and make sure they aren't shit. * No need for an overhaul on the website, just a few minor changes. I don't want to re-learn how to use this website when we hardly ever use it. Furthermore, IIRC, it's getting shut down either this year or the next. * We need to do a cleanup of the forum. I'm a sucker for nostalgia and keeping things, but do we really need that beef with Royal laying around for new members to see? No. If they ever ask, we can tell them, but they don't need to know about stuff like that. That shit is over and done with and we've moved on. Same goes for other shit[2]. 1. What are certified admins? These are admins I can trust. They have been here for years and proven their loyalty. They have shown they know what to look for in an admin, and, if back in the day I went on holiday, I'd give these people my temp status. Pax for example. 2. Exceptions apply: THG.
